4.	Private Hire Vehicle Licence Application for a Novelty Vehicle View the reasons why item 4. is restricted View the background to item 4. Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered an application for a novelty vehicle ‘fire engine’ to be licensed as a Private Hire Vehicle. The Senior Licensing Practitioner outlined the details of the report, together with the reasons why this had been brought before the Sub-Committee. At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee. At the invitation of the Chairman the applicant’s representative gave a verbal character reference on behalf on the applicant. The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision. Upon its return it was RESOLVED that the licence be granted.
5.	Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence View the reasons why item 5. is restricted View the background to item 5. Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered an application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence. The Senior Licensing Practitioner outlined the details of the application, together with the reasons why the application had been brought before the Sub-Committee, detailing the Department of Transport (DOT) Circular 2/92 and the Council’s Guidance Relating to the Relevance of Convictions and Cautions. At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee. The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision. Upon its return it was RESOLVED that the application be refused.
6.	Enforcement Matters - Officer Update(s) View the background to item 6. Minutes: The Senior Licensing Practitioner provided Members with a further verbal update following on from the meeting held 27th June 2012 with regard to a decision taken on a matter in relation to a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence. RESOLVED that the verbal update be noted.
