Local Government Act 1972 "RESOLVED: that under Section 100 I of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act, as amended, the relevant paragraph(s) of that part being as set out below, and that it is in the public interest to do so:-

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence Application Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered an application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
The Licensing Officer, Worcestershire Regulatory Services outlined the details of the application, together with the reasons why the application had been brought before the Sub-Committee, detailing Sections 51(1) and 59(1) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. The Department of Transport (DOT) Circular 2/92 and the Council’s Guidance Relating to the Relevance of Convictions and Cautions.
At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant’s representative put forward the applicant’s case and answered a number of questions, on behalf of the applicant, from Members of the Sub-Committee.
The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision. Upon its return it was
RESOLVED that the application be refused. |

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Drivers Licence - Review Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered matters in relation to a holder of a combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence in light of information received by the Licensing Authority, Worcestershire Regulatory Services.
The Licensing Officer outlined the details of the matter, together with the reasons why this had been brought before the Sub-Committee. Detailing Sections 61 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 and the Council’s Taxi Handbook.
The Licensing Officer informed the Sub-Committee that the witness had been unable to attend the meeting due to work commitments.
At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered as number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee. The applicant was concerned that he had not been given the opportunity to put any questions to the witness in respect of his statement.
The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision. Upon its return it was
RESOLVED: (a) that at the request of all Licensing Sub-Committee Members and in agreement with the applicant, a further Licensing Sub-Committee meeting be arranged in order to seek further information and clarification, and (b) that a date and time suitable for both the applicant and witness be arranged. |
