"RESOLVED: that under Section 100 I of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act, as amended, the relevant paragraphs of that part being as set out below, and that it is in the public interest to do so:-

Minutes:

Private Hire Vehicle Licence Application for a Novelty Vehicle

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered an application for a novelty vehicle ‘Dodge (USA) fun bus’ to be licensed as a Private Hire Vehicle.

 

The Licensing Officer outlined the details of the report, together with the reasons why this had been brought before the Sub-Committee, detailing the Council’s policy relating to the type of vehicle permitted.

 

At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee.

 

The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision.  Upon its return it was

 

RESOLVED that the licence be granted.

Application for a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered an application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.

 

The Licensing Officer outlined the details of the application, together with the reasons why the application had been brought before the Sub-Committee, detailing the Department of Transport (DOT) Circular 2/92 and the Council’s Guidance Relating to the Relevance of Convictions and Cautions.

 

At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee.

 

The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider its decision.  Upon its return it was

 

RESOLVED that the application be refused.
