"RESOLVED: that under Section 100 I of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act, as amended, the relevant paragraph of that part, in each case, being as set out below, and that it is in the public interest to do so:-

RESOLVED: that under Section 100 I of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of schedule 12A to the Act, as amended, the relevant paragraphs of that part being as set out below, and that it is in the public interest to do so:-

The Sub-Committee considered matters in relation to the holder of a combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.

The Principal Licensing Officer outlined the details of the matter, together with the reasons why this had been brought before the Sub-Committee, and detailed the Council’s Guidance Relating to the Relevance of Convictions and Cautions. 

At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee.  The applicant also produced a letter relevant to his case, for Members to read.

The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider their decision.  Upon their return it was

RESOLVED that, under section 51 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, the applicant's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence be suspended for a period of seven days.
