Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered an application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.

 

The Principal Licensing Officer outlined the details of the application, together with the reasons why the application had been brought before the Sub-Committee, and detailed the guidance and general policy advice issued by the Department of Transport which was relevant to the determination of applications for hackney carriage and private hire vehicle driver’s licences.

 

At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant put forward his case in favour of his application and answered a number of questions from Members of the Sub-Committee.  The applicant produced two letters relevant to his case, Members agreed to adjourn the hearing for a period of fifteen minutes in order to read the letters.

 

At the invitation of the Chairman, the applicant returned to the hearing and summed up his case.

 

The Sub-Committee then adjourned to consider their decision.  Upon their return, it was

 

RESOLVED that the application be refused.
