The Head of Legal, Democratic and Property Services presented the Asset Disposal Strategy for the consideration of Members.
The Cabinet was informed that each year the Council must ensure all of its assets were included within the Statement of Accounts, including land, property and other assets. The Asset Disposal Strategy sought to provide a framework within which assets could be assessed for suitability and the likely costs that were associated with maintaining those assets. In addition to this, it was highlighted that the strategy sought to set out a clear mechanism for rationalisation of assets where appropriate. Members were informed that the number of Councilowned assets was not huge and were generally already allocated.
RESOLVED that the Asset Disposal Strategy be approved for implementation.
